It's great that solar is more affordable then ever. As many here have suggested, it's always best to shop around and compare quotes. Plus there are differences in solar panel manufacturers, mounting and other equipment. It might not require as much research and planning as redoing a kitchen, but you should at least know what is going to be on your roof for the next 25 years.

Word on the street is that the bailout bill while ineffective is full of green pork. There are some pretty cool incentives for renewable energy that should help green America. Only time will tell.

I'm not familiar with air conditioners because I live in a cold climate and I have focused on heating homes and not cooling them. I've noticed an increase in interest in Greencore's solar air heater. It uses solar cells to generate electricity to run the air conditioner.
